One of the best things about long dresses is they can be appropriate for almost any event or time. My closet is full of long maxi dresses that I live in during the spring and summer months. They flow over your body and allow your skin to breathe. They also move with you when you walk, and make the figure of a woman look enormously sexy. In more formal settings, they offer an air of conservatism, but with the right cut you can tease on top with a lower neckline or a backless option. Long dresses are fantastic. Here are some great ways to wear long dresses that can fit into any part of a girl’s life.

Long dresses, as I mentioned, are perfect for every day causal situations. Busy moms can throw one over their heads, slap on a pair of flat sandals, throw their hair up in a messy pony tail, and look alluring all day in a carefree and muss free fashion. Sounds like I should know right? It’s basically how I spend most of my days, and I love it! I’ve chosen long dresses that are either simple in color or have an interesting and fun but not over the top patterning and coloration to them. Because I tend to prefer spaghetti strapped long dresses or halter dresses, I have to be creative with the straps of my bras. I do spend extra money on strapless bras that come with strap attachments, which I buy pretty extra straps for. It’s a simple and fun pleasure for me, but it’s something you should consider if you regularly wear spaghetti strapped long dresses anyway. Every day long dresses should be made of material that’s soft and breathable, and that flows. You won’t be comfortable sitting in hot weather in a tight dress, so don’t bother.

Formally, long dresses made of nicer fabrics are required. This usually means some sheen to the fabric. You usually can’t throw a nicer long dress over your head like you can a casual one- the fits on these are typically more tailored and usually clasp or zip closed on your body. Choose sexy features. As I mentioned, a backless dress can be absolutely show stopping if you’ve got the back to show off. Wear heels with your formal long dress too. If you choose a long dress that’s got a cut up the side of the skirt (very old fashioned but encouraged if you can find a good one and you’ve got great legs), a nice pair of heels will drop jaws.

Long dresses are versatile and great additions to your dress wardrobe. They can go anywhere and are just as comfortable as they are sexy. They’re one of my favorite articles of clothing, of which I indulge in often. As a busy mom who still loves to look great and do nice things once in a while, long dresses suit me and my life perfectly!
