One of the hardest things when buying new additions for your wardrobe is trying to figure out how to work a dress into your professional attire without looking like an old lady. Luckily for you, I’ve spent some time over at BCBG and found some really great options for work dresses that are not only really cute, but also professional and updated.
LIVI LACE-HEM DRESS
This dress would work if you’ve got a good set of legs, as the solid part of the dress ends short, but is continued with sheer lace down to just above the knees. The rest of the dress is conservative and simple with its round neck line and full length arm sleeves. When you’re sitting down, all people would see is the black, sleek, form fitting top. But when you stand, you’ll surprise them with the lovely lace detail on the bottom. Pair with a great pair of black heels.
ARORA DRAPED DRESS
This dress is more conservative than the first, and the lovely light pink color is very feminine and delicate. The fit of this dress is more relaxed and not form fitting, so accenting your waist with a nice belt would help give this dress some shape (as shown in the photo). The shoulders are pleated to give the top some structure and the waist does have an elastic dropped waist band built into it. This is a great mix of soft and structured.
JONI PLEATED DRESS
This is another well-structured black dress with very well placed feminine details. This dress holds your figure and flaunts structured pleats in a new and updated way. This dress boasts a pretty v-neck and long sleeves with pleats. The sleeves chinch at the bottom, creating a feminine billowy effect which really romanticizes this dress.
ODESSA DRESS
This dress comes in a few different solid colors, but my favorite part about it like the rest of BCBG’s work appropriate dresses is the structure. This is an elegant and easy to wear dress that can be dressed up with accessories or dressed down. You could go from work straight to dinner in this versatile number. The neck line is a generous scoop accentuating most bust sizes, and the sleeves are long and thin down at the bottom. This is a sleek, pretty simple dress.
LAHELD LONG-SLEEVE SIDE-DRAPE TUNIC
This dress may work well for a more casual workplace, but is still professional. The one-off-shoulder neckline is different and I think very pretty- mainly sexy (and in the right venues, this could prove to be to your advantage!). The dress is shaped to form fit, and the sleeves are long. The skirt line ends just above the knee and would look great with a pair of heels or wedges.
BCBG dresses are feminine with structure and make great additions to your wardrobe. Look to them for a good alternative and updated array of dresses that any girl would love.
